Southern Realty & Appraisal, Inc. was founded circa 1980 by James S. Cattanach, ASA, IFAS, State Certified General Appraiser / RZ 0000926. Mr.Cattanach has been in the real estate profession for over four decades. Since his initial apprenticeship with the Avon New Jersey-based firm of Municipal Revaluations in 1965, Mr.Cattanach has experienced a diverse and substantive career in real estate finance, development and appraisal. This background has been further enhanced with extensive experience in both the governmental and private sectors of real estate. Mr. Cattanach has provided real estate counseling services in the areas of appraisal and portfolio evaluation , development and investment analysis, including debt and equity finance. His client list includes corporations, institutions, public authorities, insurance companies, government regulators, investors, lawyers, and lenders who solicit valuation expertise. SR&A has specialized in a numerous and diverse array of high-profile residential and commercial property appraisals spanning the Eastern Seaboard of the United States. Mr.Cattanach has been aggregately responsible for the completion of over 50,000 single family and multi-family appraisals. Mr.Cattanach has qualified as an expert witness in seven states, and is a Senior Member of the American Society of Appraisers (ASA), and the National Association of Independent Fee Appraisers (IFAS), and is past president of the Broward County Florida Chapters.
